Prominent Hong Kong democracy activist Joshua Wong pleaded guilty to collusion with foreign entities, a national security offense carrying a maximum life sentence. Prosecutors accused him of helping organize an international media and political campaign through Demosisto, the disbanded party he once led. The campaign allegedly sought foreign sanctions or blockades against Hong Kong and China in 2019 and 2020. Wong, 29, is already serving a sentence for conspiracy to commit subversion. Several Western diplomats attended the High Court hearing.
