The site could be used to manufacture defense equipment, components or other security-related products, although officials have not disclosed the plans. The transformation reflects Europe’s broader push to strengthen domestic supply chains amid heightened security concerns. It may also require significant investment, workforce retraining and regulatory approvals before production can begin at the former automotive facility.
