Germany is negotiating with Ukraine to purchase Bars jet-powered drones, a German official familiar with the discussions told the Kyiv Independent. The talks come as Berlin considers buying thousands of deep-strike weapons from European manufacturers. Bars can reportedly travel up to 1,000 kilometers and reach speeds of 700 kilometers per hour. The drone’s manufacturer has not been publicly identified for security reasons. Germany and Ukraine signed an agreement in July to jointly produce Bars, with initial production financed by Germany and intended for Ukraine’s armed forces.
