Germany Announces $1.46 Billion in Aid for Ukraine, Including Interceptor Drones

Germany announced a new support package worth more than €1.3 billion for Ukraine during Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s visit to Kyiv. The package includes €1 billion in military assistance, financing interceptor drones designed to counter Russia’s jet-powered weapons, long-range systems, combat drones, and satellite technology. A further €350 million will support generators and repairs to infrastructure damaged by Russian attacks. Merz said the aid would strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses and help protect its energy network ahead of winter nationwide.
