The measure would target platforms judged “harmful” to minors, while allowing access to other sites only with explicit parental authorization. The proposal also includes a separate restriction on mobile phone use in senior schools. Support from President Emmanuel Macron has helped push the bill forward as part of a wider European trend of limiting children’s exposure to online content. The Senate now reviews the legislation.
