Fort Worth City Council Approves $11.25 Million Settlement in Atatiana Jefferson Shooting

The settlement resolves a civil lawsuit stemming from the incident, in which Officer Aaron Dean fired through a window while responding to a welfare check. Dean was later convicted of murder and sentenced to prison. Jefferson’s family said the agreement represents accountability, though no financial settlement can undo their loss.
