Flávio Bolsonaro Wins Endorsements from Right-Wing Rivals Ahead of Brazil Runoff

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro received endorsements from right-wing politicians Ronaldo Caiado and Romeu Zema after Brazil’s first-round presidential vote. Caiado, a former Goiás governor, won 2.18% of valid votes; Zema, a former Minas Gerais governor, received 0.27%. Caiado’s team said he would meet Bolsonaro to announce his support, while Zema declared his endorsement on social media. Other candidates, including Augusto Cury and Renan Santos, said they would back neither candidate. Bolsonaro faces President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the October 25 runoff.
