Flávio Bolsonaro and Family to Receive U.S. Visas After Election Defeat in Brazil

A senior U.S. State Department official said Tuesday that Flávio Bolsonaro and his family will be issued visas and allowed to enter the United States. The announcement came two days after the Brazilian senator lost the presidential runoff to incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. Bolsonaro had been ordered by Brazil’s Supreme Court to surrender his passports amid an investigation into alleged money laundering, which he denies. It remains unclear whether he has left Brazil or complied with the passport order.
