EU Expands Sanctions on North Korea and Russian Firms Over Military and Economic Ties

The European Union added three individuals and four entities to its sanctions list over support for North Korea’s nuclear and missile programs and cooperation with Russia. The targets include a North Korean researcher accused of helping Russian forces use North Korean missiles, and Russian businesses linked to employing North Korean workers and joint commercial projects. A shipping company was also listed over alleged petroleum transfers. The measures impose asset freezes and travel bans, and prohibit funds from being made available to those sanctioned. The EU cited growing military and economic ties.
