Election Anxiety Drives Some Israelis to Consider Leaving for Good

Some Israelis considering emigration say the October 27 election could determine whether they remain in the country. A poll by public broadcaster Kan found that about 20 percent of Israelis were thinking about leaving; more than half of those respondents said the election result could directly affect their decision. Other surveys found over a quarter had considered emigration under certain circumstances. Researchers also reported that 268,509 Israeli citizens left Israel for at least three consecutive months between 2023 and 2025, amid concerns about politics, war and the economy.
