Curtis Flowers, wrongfully imprisoned for more than 22 years, dies

Curtis Flowers, 56, was found dead Wednesday, Montgomery County Coroner Allan Pratt said. No cause was announced. Flowers spent more than 22 years in prison after being wrongfully convicted in the 1996 murders of four employees at Tardy Furniture in Winona, Mississippi. He was prosecuted six times; convictions were overturned, and the U.S. Supreme Court overturned his convictions in 2019. He was released that year. In 2020, prosecutors dropped the charges. His case drew attention through the podcast In the Dark.
