The Canadian Labour Congress says the federal government’s Labour Code review could weaken collective bargaining and leave the door open to restrictions on the right to strike. CLC President Bea Bruske criticized proposals that could expand government intervention in labour disputes, including the use of section 107 to end strikes and impose binding arbitration. The union body is calling for stronger worker protections, action against wage theft and misclassification, and safeguards for health, safety, and workplace surveillance in future legislation
