He said the government is extending voluntary restrictions already agreed with fire chiefs and supermarkets, after firefighters linked disposable grills to several serious blazes. Burnham added that, “longer term,” ministers may look at banning the single-use barbecues in summer months. Retailers previously pulled them after heatwaves were declared imminent.
