The UK government is not planning to join Canada’s Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB), according to a parliamentary letter and previous government statements. Instead, it is pursuing the Multilateral Defence Mechanism (MDM) with Finland and the Netherlands, focused on joint procurement and sovereign lending. A parliamentary committee has argued the two initiatives could complement one another and urged the government to reconsider its position. The government has not publicly announced a decision to join.
