Hungary’s Prime Minister Péter Magyar says he will ask chess legend Judit Polgár to become Hungary’s next President. Magyar, in a Facebook post, said he will meet her Monday and ask whether she would accept the largely ceremonial post, which she would hold until a planned new constitution takes effect or for up to five years. The move comes after constitutional changes ended President Tamas Sulyok’s term, setting up a parliamentary election for the successor. Polgár has not yet responded publicly to the proposal.
