Zelenskyy says Ukrainian forces adapted underground advance tactics in Operation Veles

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukrainian forces advanced more than 15 kilometers underground near Kupiansk during Operation Veles. The operation was carried out by the National Guard’s 2nd Khartiia Corps, alongside other Ukrainian units. Zelenskyy said Russian forces had previously used underground gas pipelines to infiltrate Ukrainian positions, and that Ukraine adapted the tactic with more advanced technology. He reported that over 100 Russian troops had been killed and more than 30 captured. These are Ukrainian military claims only.
