President Volodymyr Zelensky warned Ukrainians to remain vigilant during the night and in the coming hours, saying Russia was preparing another “massive strike.”
In his evening address, Zelensky urged people to closely monitor air raid alerts, adding that the Russian side had prepared for a new large-scale attack.
The warning comes shortly after Ukraine carried out major drone strikes against targets in Moscow, which Zelensky framed as retaliation for ongoing Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities. Russia has repeatedly threatened further attacks, while Ukraine has said its warnings and counterstrikes are responses to the escalation and attacks it says it is facing.
Zelensky also used the address to issue a warning about Belarus, saying Ukraine has information that Belarusian territory and equipment could be used to support Russian drone strikes against Ukrainian oblasts, and urging Belarus to dismantle what Ukraine says is being used for those attacks.
