Two commercial vessels were struck by sea and aerial drones on October 6 in Bulgaria’s Black Sea exclusive economic zone. One ship, the Togo-flagged Alfa Watan, sank; the Palau-flagged Able caught fire, and its 18 crew members were rescued, with two seriously injured. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blamed Russia, saying the attack involved Russian drones. Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev condemned the strikes as violations of maritime law.
