World Bank Says It Disbursed $200 Million to Colombia for Quake Response

The World Bank announced it has disbursed $200 million to Colombia to help fund emergency response efforts after a deadly August 10 earthquake. The bank said it is working with the Colombian government, development partners, financial institutions, and private-sector groups to meet immediate needs while laying groundwork for recovery. It also launched a Global Rapid Assessment of Damages from Earthquakes (GRADE) to quickly estimate damages and economic losses, helping authorities prioritize aid and reconstruction.
