U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said U.S. forces launched precision strikes against multiple Iranian targets, describing the operations as “self-defense” measures ordered by the Commander in Chief.
CENTCOM said the strikes targeted Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communications systems, and air-defense sites across Iran. It added that U.S. Marine Corps, Air Force, and Navy assets fired precision munitions at targets that posed a threat to U.S. forces and international commercial ships transiting regional waters.
In its statement, CENTCOM said the strikes were a response to Iran’s “unwarranted and continued aggression,” and it said U.S. forces would remain vigilant.
