US Delaying Patriot Missiles Already Paid for Under NATO Initiative, Zelensky Says

President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview that the United States has approved only some Patriot interceptor missiles purchased through NATO’s Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative. Under the program, NATO allies finance purchases of US-made weapons for Ukraine. Zelensky said Washington is currently supplying 12 interceptors per month, about one-quarter of the number provided under the Biden administration. Ukraine now has to purchase the missiles, he said. The US government has not publicly confirmed his figures or explained the reported delays.
