The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued Boeing a license allowing commercial cooperation with Belavia, Belarus’s state airline, CEO Igor Cherginets said. The authorization permits the carrier to obtain spare parts, aircraft components and software for its existing fleet, and potentially negotiate new jet purchases. The decision follows Treasury approval and eases restrictions imposed after Belarus supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Belavia remains barred from using Boeing aircraft on flights to Russia and several other restricted destinations, according to U.S. conditions.
