Ukrainian suspect hunted by police after Monaco bomb attack was “disguised as a man”

Monaco is hunting a Ukrainian woman named as the main suspect in a parcel bombing that seriously injured three people, with prosecutors saying she was “disguised as a man.” The deputy prosecutor, Morgan Raymond, said Anastasiia Berezovska, 39, is suspected of leaving a package in the entrance hall of an apartment building and then fleeing before later driving to Germany.

The attack targeted a wealthy Ukrainian businessman, Vadym Yermolaiev, along with his partner and their 13-year-old son. Authorities believe the victims were entering the building when the package was left just before 21:00 local time on Monday, and an explosion occurred shortly afterwards. Interpol has issued a Red Notice for Berezovska for attempted murder, placing an explosive device with criminal intent, and criminal conspiracy.

Investigators said CCTV showed a person wearing a dark bucket hat; Raymond said investigators later concluded it was a woman who had disguised herself as a man after evidence—described as including scouting behavior and clothing/hair details—made the suspect’s sex clear. Police are also looking for possible accomplices or anyone who may have ordered the attack.

Berezovska is believed to be in Germany. German authorities confirmed that special forces searched a rented apartment in the Main-Taunus district associated with a 39-year-old Ukrainian woman and also searched and seized a vehicle, and they said evidence was secured for Monaco’s authorities. The suspect remains on the run, with an international arrest warrant issued.
