Ukraine is seeking 24 Embraer Super Tucano light-attack aircraft through a NATO country, hoping to bypass Brazil’s refusal to supply weapons directly to Kyiv. Former President Petro Poroshenko said an agreement was reached with Embraer at a defense exhibition in Poland, though no formal contract has been confirmed. Portugal is the only European NATO member operating the aircraft. Brazilian law requires government approval for military re-exports, and officials say the veto remains in force. The planes would help counter drones.
