Ukraine Scaled Back Tanker Attacks at JD Vance’s Request, FT Says

Ukraine reduced intensive drone attacks on oil tankers using Russia’s Novorossiysk port after U.S. Vice President JD Vance requested the change, the Financial Times reported. Washington was concerned the strikes were destabilizing oil markets and harming U.S. businesses, particularly involving shipments connected to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium route. Ukrainian officials said the understanding included not attacking CPC infrastructure or non-Russian vessels, if they weren’t under Ukrainian sanctions and weren’t carrying Russian oil or cargo.
