Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Russian forces were turning Oleshky, in Kherson region, into a “death trap,” citing starvation and a lack of medicine. He urged the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other organisations to secure safe evacuation routes and humanitarian access. Sybiha said families were surviving on garden vegetables, preserves and snails, and that dozens of bodies remained in streets or homes. Russia has acknowledged serious food and medical supply problems in the town.
