Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat said partners did not warn Ukraine before the first wave of Russia’s ballistic missile attack on the night of October 13–14, but alerted officials ahead of the next three waves. Russia also launched drones during the overnight assault, which mainly targeted Kyiv and surrounding areas. The lack of an initial warning raised questions after reports that missiles struck before air-raid alerts. Ihnat said the reason for the missed warning remained unclear; Ukrainian officials were seeking answers from international partners.
