Ukraine has welcomed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for Russia to move from “endless war” toward an end to hostilities, describing India as a global superpower whose voice matters. The appeal came during Modi’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit in Bishkek. Kyiv views the statement as a diplomatic signal, although India continues balancing close ties with Moscow. Modi reiterated that dialogue, diplomacy, and permanent peace remain India’s path for resolving the conflict.
