The UK will deploy an RAF Voyager aircraft to refuel Saudi fighter jets, following a request from Riyadh, the government announced. The aircraft will operate from a UK base in Cyprus and support what officials describe as defensive missions against Houthi drones and missiles. The deployment is expected to last several weeks. Britain says the move builds on its existing air-defence support for Saudi Arabia. The UK is not sending fighter jets in this deployment; the Voyager is a tanker aircraft that enables jets to remain airborne longer.
