Two hydropower workers have been rescued alive from a mud-filled tunnel in Nepal, nine days after flash floods devastated areas near the Tibet border. Rescue teams located the men during a painstaking operation involving Nepalese and Chinese personnel, engineers, and heavy equipment. The workers were reportedly weak but conscious after being trapped underground. The disaster damaged multiple hydropower projects, killed more than 1,000 people, and left thousands missing.
