Two men arrested on suspicion of trespass at RAF base

Two Latvian men, aged 36 and 32, were arrested inside RAF Molesworth in Cambridgeshire after a small breach was found in the base’s perimeter fence. A Ministry of Defence Police patrol first spotted an abandoned vehicle near the site at about 22:00 BST on Wednesday. The men were arrested around 02:00 on Thursday, initially on suspicion of trespass and criminal damage. They were later arrested under the National Security Act 2023. Counter Terrorism Policing is investigating; officers say inquiries remain at an early stage.
