Turkey has blocked access to several LGBTI+ dating apps after an Istanbul court decision, a report said.
The ruling was issued on June 12 by the Istanbul 5th Penal Judgeship of Peace, according to the Freedom of Expression Association (İFÖD), which monitors online censorship. The blocked apps listed in the report include HeeSay, Taimi, SCRUFF, Jack’d, Surge, ROMEO, BEARWW, Shuggr, and Daddyhunt.
The action comes after Turkey previously targeted queer dating services, including an earlier block on Hornet. The latest restrictions are described as part of a continuing wave of digital bans aimed at LGBTI+ communities during Pride Month, alongside other reported limits on related online accounts and platforms.
