Trump Says Russia’s Actions in Ukraine Are “Fine”

On October 19, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters Russia “has been fine on Ukraine” and “hasn’t been doing much.” His remarks came as Russian attacks continued, including a drone strike in Kharkiv Oblast that killed six people, including two children. Trump praised Russian President Vladimir Putin and said he was open to a summit with Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping to discuss disarmament. He also criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and said Ukraine should consider a new negotiator.
