President Donald Trump criticized Norway after the Nobel Committee awarded its 2026 Peace Prize to South African jurist Navi Pillay. In a social media post, he called the decision an “indelible stain” on the country and repeated his claim that he had settled eight wars. At a rally in Syracuse, New York, Trump said the prize was “forever discredited” because it had not been awarded to him. The Nobel Peace Prize is chosen by an independent committee appointed by Norway’s parliament.
