U.S. President Donald Trump says he reached an agreement with Vladimir Putin for Russia to supply diesel to global markets, including 300,000 tonnes immediately and further shipments in coming months. The U.S. Treasury issued a temporary licence allowing Russian diesel exports, with sanctions relief reportedly lasting until April 7, 2027. Trump said the move could bring down fuel prices. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the decision as a “gift to Putin,” arguing that easing sanctions without a commitment to stop attacks on energy infrastructure could strengthen Russia’s war effort.
