Trio Charged with Murder Following Fatal Balcony Fall in Castle Hill

SYDNEY, NSW — Three individuals have been charged with murder following the tragic death of a 44-year-old man who fell from an apartment balcony in Castle Hill, located in Sydney’s north-west.

Emergency services were called to a unit complex on Crane Road in Castle Hill at approximately 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 17, 2026, following reports that a man had been heard shouting from a balcony.

Upon arrival, officers from The Hills Police Area Command discovered the 44-year-old man suffering from serious injuries in a garden area outside the building. Despite immediate medical treatment provided by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene, the man could not be revived.

In response to the incident, a crime scene was established, and an investigation—codenamed "Strike Force Sunbach"—was launched by The Hills Police Area Command and the North West Metropolitan Region, with assistance from the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad.

Following extensive inquiries, police arrested three individuals in connection with the murder. On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, a 38-year-old man was arrested at Castle Hill Police Station and charged with murder.

The following day, Thursday, May 21, 2026, detectives executed a search warrant at a home in Woolloomooloo, where they arrested a 30-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman; both were subsequently taken to Kings Cross Police Station and charged with murder.

All three accused individuals have been refused bail and are appearing in court. Investigations under Strike Force Sunbach remain ongoing.
