‘Trans’ Student Mailers Hit Texas Homes as Advocacy Group Denies Sending Them

Texas households have received mailers addressed to students that discuss unsupportive parents, emancipation and accessing transgender-related care outside the state. The materials identify a “Texas Transgender Student Union” as the sender and reference resources from the Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT). TENT says it did not author, authorize, approve or distribute the mailers, and denies sending a text campaign. The identity of those behind the mailings is unclear. No evidence shows a political or advocacy group organized the distribution.
