Tragedy in KP: Five Bomb Disposal Heroes Martyred in Brutal Razmak Ambush

MIRAMSHAH — A grave security incident has shaken the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where five security personnel belonging to a Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) were martyred on Sunday, June 21, 2026 following a ruthless terrorist ambush.

The attack has cast a somber shadow over the region, highlighting the persistent and high-stakes dangers faced by frontline personnel dedicated to neutralizing explosive threats in the province.

The deadly encounter took place within the jurisdiction of the Razmak subdivision during established curfew hours. Official sources reported that the specialized BDU team was actively engaged in carrying out their routine operational and clearance duties near a critical security checkpost situated in the Waidoon area of Dosali tehsil.

Without warning, heavily armed militants emerged under the cover of the curfew restrictions and launched a coordinated, aggressive assault on the unsuspecting personnel. Caught in a sudden volley of gunfire, all five brave members of the squad tragically sustained fatal wounds and were martyred on the spot.

The sheer audacity of the ambush immediately triggered a high-alert situation throughout the entire subdivision. Nearby security contingents rushed to the scene to secure the perimeter and neutralize any lingering threats.

Due to the sensitive nature of the area and the severity of the incident, a military helicopter was dispatched to the site. The bodies of the fallen heroes were carefully recovered and airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Bannu for necessary official medical formalities and the preparation of funeral arrangements.

In the immediate aftermath of the tragedy, Pakistan's security forces cordoned off the entire Waidoon and broader Dosali tehsil corridors, initiating an extensive, multi-layered search and clearance operation to track down the fleeing assailants.

Additional forces have been deployed to the sector, and multiple emergency checkpoints have been hastily established across key transit routes linking North Waziristan to neighboring regions. All movement in, around, and leading away from the affected locality has been placed under strict surveillance as intelligence and combat teams hunt for the militant network responsible for the attack.
