DINGLI, Malta — A quiet morning in the rural outskirts of Dingli turned devastating on Friday, July 17, 2026, when a freak heavy machinery accident claimed the life of an elderly man.

The victim, a 74-year-old resident of Mellieħa, was killed after being pinned between a commercial truck and a farm vehicle in an alleyway.
