Thousands of pro-Palestine demonstrators gathered on London’s Embankment on Saturday for a march organised by the Palestine Coalition. Police said several people were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after climbing onto the Battle of Britain memorial. A woman and a man were also arrested for displaying support for the proscribed group Palestine Action. Officers imposed conditions on the march and a nearby counter-protest, kept the groups apart with barriers and warned that people deliberately concealing their identities could be required to remove face coverings.
