Thieves Target Nvidia-Branded Trailers for AI Hardware but Find 40,000 Pounds of Sand

Thieves who stole two Nvidia- and PlusAI-branded trailers in California apparently expected valuable AI hardware, but found 40,000 pounds of sand instead. PlusAI uses the sand to simulate heavy freight while testing its autonomous trucking systems. The trailers were taken from a Fremont facility and later discovered in Newark after a company executive received a message about them. Police recovered both units, which had been abandoned after their doors were opened. No arrests have been reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
