Fifteen-year-old Derek Parker Aghnaanga was rescued after spending days clinging to an overturned fishing boat in Alaska’s frigid Bering Sea. He had set out from St. Lawrence Island with his older brother and cousin to catch halibut, but the vessel capsized and the other two died. A nearby fishing crew pulled Derek aboard after Coast Guard aircraft located him. He was suffering from hypothermia and had no food or water. Rescuers later recovered the bodies of the two missing boaters.
