Switzerland Extradites ‘Ndrangheta Member to Italy

Switzerland has extradited a suspected ‘Ndrangheta organized-crime member to Italy. The man was arrested at the end of January in Wetzikon, near Zurich, and had been wanted on an Italian arrest warrant issued in Catanzaro. Swiss authorities confirmed he is now in Italy, where prosecutors will take further legal action. He was suspected of belonging to a mafia organization, and additional allegations included international drug trafficking. The case reflects ongoing cooperation between Swiss and Italian law-enforcement agencies.
