Switzerland’s army considered working with US technology company Palantir on five occasions in recent years but rejected each proposal, according to a media investigation. In three cases, concerns about control over data led to the decision. Army experts questioned whether sensitive information could remain under Swiss control, raising issues of data sovereignty and security. Palantir supplies software used by governments, militaries and intelligence agencies. Switzerland has not imposed a blanket ban on cooperation, but a Green Party parliamentary initiative proposes restricting contracts with foreign providers.
