AL BURAIMI, Oman — In an unusual case of automotive theft, authorities in the Al Buraimi Governorate have cracked down on a local criminal operation targeting student transport. The Royal Oman Police (ROP) confirmed the arrest of four individuals implicated in the theft, vandalism, and systematic dismantling of a local school bus.

The targeted educational vehicle was stripped down with the specific intent of selling its components on the black market as spare parts.

According to official statements from the Al Buraimi Governorate Police Command, the suspects carefully targeted the school bus, moving it to a discreet location to avoid detection while they worked. Once hidden, the group began a rapid teardown of the heavy vehicle, stripping away high-value mechanics, body panels, and internal components intended for illicit scrap and spare part distribution. The scheme came to a grinding halt following a targeted investigation by law enforcement officers.
