At least 64 people were killed Wednesday when a high-speed train struck the rear of another train that had stopped in Toledo province, central Spain, authorities said. The collision derailed two cars, and at least 80 people were reported injured as rescue crews searched the wreckage. The cause was not immediately known. Rail services between Madrid, Ciudad Real and Andalusia were suspended. The disaster follows a January collision in southern Spain that killed 45 people, renewing concern about safety on the country’s high-speed rail network.
