The Panstar Acro, South Korea’s first container ship to use the Arctic shipping route, arrived at Felixstowe in the United Kingdom after departing Busan 21 days earlier. The 2,758-TEU vessel is carrying chemical products, used cars, and auto parts for European customers. The trial voyage will continue to Rotterdam and Gdansk before returning to Busan in October. Seoul hopes the route could shorten Korea-Europe shipping distances by about 32 percent, though sea ice, harsh conditions, and operating costs remain obstacles
