A South Korean man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a Japanese woman in Cheonan, Chungcheong Province. He told police he had lost 5 million won in stock investments and intended to die with her, investigators said. Police say they met three times and were not romantically involved. The suspect stabbed the woman in an officetel October 28, then fled to Jeonju before his arrest. Investigators are examining phone data and the circumstances; his account of the motive remains under investigation.
