Six people have died and 107 have been rescued after the Indonesian ferry Virgo Transport 8 lost contact in the Java Sea during bad weather. The vessel was carrying 243 passengers and crew while travelling from Surabaya to Banjarmasin. Authorities said 130 people remained missing as ships, helicopters and hundreds of rescue personnel searched the area.
