Senegal Jails Three TikTok Influencers for Insulting President

A Senegalese court sentenced three TikTok influencers to prison and fines for insulting President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, their lawyer said. The men—who worked for the online communications channel Feenal Digital—were punished after posts on TikTok were deemed criminal. One received a three-month sentence without suspension; the other two were each given two months without parole and ordered to pay fines. Critics said the convictions threaten free speech, while a government response was not immediately available.
